Die Psychologen John Oldham und Lois Morris haben es gut auf den Punkt gebracht: »Exzentrische Menschen sind keineswegs blind für das, was andere denken und glauben. Aber es ist für sie egal. Sie beziehen ihre Einsichten immer aus sich selbst und passen sich den Bedürfnissen anderer nicht an.« Exzentriker brauchen im Grunde keine anderen Menschen. Und wenn der andere nicht mitspielt, dann spielen sie eben allein weiter.
