Ferien, Urlaub, frei, ohne Verpflichtungen (mehr oder weniger): gut zwei Wochen dolce far niente! War bitter nötig.

Holidays, vacation, free as a bird, off duty (more or less): 16 days of doing absolutely nothing (which of course is not true - but doing just the things I am in the mood for). A bare necessity.
