Diktum

»I fooled myself to have a choice but I could have imagined that the decision is not mine. One is chosen, that is all, you have to wait until it is your turn and take advantage of the opportunity.«
An excerpt of Frédéric Beigbeders »L'égoïste romantique«. Written as a diary with mundane, amusing, mean, cynical, sentimental, romantic observations. Nice and quick to read.

Diktum
I’m confused about who the news belongs to. I always have it in my head that if your name's in the news, then the news should be paying you. Because it’s your news and they’re taking it and selling it as their product. If people didn’t give the news their news, and if everybody kept their news to themselves, the news wouldn’t have any news. (Andy Warhol, 1975)

Frankfurt
I have been to Frankfurt twice this week - very unusual for me, as I am not quite in love with this strange city. But, as Edvard Munch in the Schirn and Andy Warhol in MMK were calling, who am I to resist ... When you are in Frankfurt don’t miss going to the Kleinmarkhalle to grab something to eat. And if you are in the MMK: I highly recommend to go the the ladys room in the basement, where you can find an installation of Pipilotti Rist in one of the compartments ... just great. On Saturday, Wagner was summoning to another place to go: the Opera in Frankfurt, where I saw his Götterdämmerung (Twilight of the Gods). So, obviously I am learning to appreciate Frankfurt ...

go hear
